Accessibility & Inclusion at Blue Mountains Stargazing

At Blue Mountains Stargazing, we believe the stars belong to everyone.

We’re committed to making our experiences welcoming and accessible for people of all  races, genders, sexual orientations, and abilities. Whether you live with a disability, are neurodivergent, or simply need a bit of extra support outdoors, we want you to feel safe, included, and inspired under the night sky.

As a small, growing business, we are continually learning and improving our services. If our general sessions don’t suit your needs, we’re happy to explore how we can adapt the experience just for you.

Accessibility at Our Location

Disability Access Level: Easy

Our stargazing events take place at Wentworth Falls Lookout, located within the Wentworth Falls Picnic Area, a fully accessible site managed by NSW National Parks. The area offers:

  • Flat and gently sloped concrete & hard-packed ground pathways

  • 🚻 Accessible toilets set along concrete paths

  • 🍽️ Accessible picnic tables throughout the area, to use before or after our tours

  • 🪑 Bench seats for resting throughout the lookout where our tours are held

  • 2 accessible parking spaces in the paved carpark

  • 🌌 A wide, flat viewing area at the lookout with minimal trip hazards

Guests can walk 300 metres (approx. 4 minutes) from the carpark along a gentle path, or be dropped off directly at the lookout by car.

Inclusive Experiences

We welcome people with visible and invisible disabilities, and those from communities traditionally underrepresented in outdoor spaces. If you have specific needs, please let us know—we’re here to help.

Here’s how we can support:

Mobility
Suitable for guests who use a cane, walking frame, or wheelchair (if independently mobile). Paths are well maintained, and the viewing area is flat and open.

Sensory-Friendly Support
Let us know if you are neurodivergent or have sensory processing sensitivities.

Hearing Support
With notice, we’re happy to tailor the session for guests who are hearing assisted. We can:

  • Use simplified verbal explanations throughout the session

  • Use a microphone and speaker system to ensure voices are clearly heard in open-air conditions

  • Wear any assistive hearing devices (such as personal microphone receivers or loop systems) you provide

Custom Sessions
If our regular group tour doesn’t suit your needs, we’re happy to create a modified private session where possible.
